Sweater & Fabric Comb
To maintain a soft and smooth finish and for removing bobbles on knitwear and fabrics, use a sweater and fabric comb to de-pill your jumpers and sweaters before washing.
Knitwear and fine fibres require occasional de-fuzzing with a bobble remover or sweater & fabric comb. This extra care and attention ensures that your knitwear will last longer, as well as looking better, if it is well cared for.
Bobble Remover
When wearing a new sweater, after the first few 'wears' you may find some small balls, or bobbles, of wool forming on the surface of your knitwear or fabric. These small balls are caused by loose fibres rubbing together when you are wearing the garment. The most likely places for bobbles to appear are under the arms, on the elbows and along the sleeves of jumpers and sweaters.
This 'pilling' does not mean there is a problem with the fabric; it is the natural result of fibres rubbing together. Fortunately, the bobbles can be easily removed by using a knitwear comb, fabric shaver, de-fuzzing or fuzz away device, which are widely available.
Once you have removed the bobbles with your fabric & sweater comb, your knitwear will look even better and the bobbles will decrease over time if you use your chosen bobble remover or fabric comb regularly. Please find more information on our favourite sweater & fabric comb below.
